Why didn't all my photos come out?
The most common reason we see is underexposed images – not enough light made it to the film. This is typically photos taken indoors without flash.
The next most common is the film has been exposed fully to light (back of camera has been opened while film was loaded) followed by the film not loaded correctly and failing to feed through the camera.
How long does film developing take?
35mm C-41 processing is usually same day, at peak times it may be following day. 120 C-41 processing is usually a few days. Black and white processing is typically within a week.
How do you scan my films?
We use Fujifilm SP3000 scanners for most of our film scanning but have other options at our disposal too.
Do you process old film?
In most cases yes – we have managed to get amazing images off films well over 50 years old including well expired Kodachrome.
Can I buy film from you?
Yes you can! We have a range of 35mm and 120 film listed on our website. Check them out here.
Do you make frames on-site?

Can I build my frame myself?

Can you come to my house and hang my frames?
Yes, we can use timber you provide either already profiled or work from an old fence or floor joist if you wish. We will need to see the timber and know it’s history to ensure if is safe to work with.
Do you fix or restore frames?
Yes, bring your frame in so we can assess the damage and chat about what you want done.
How long does framing take?
It can depend on a few factors, but custom framing can take 2-3 weeks. This can be longer or shorter due to workload, materials, availability and difficulty of the job. If you need something for a certain date just let us know, we’ll have an option available.
How much does custom framing cost?
This depends on the materials, size of the object being framed and how labour intensive it is. Check out our price guide here for a better guideline on framing costs.
How should I hang my frame?
If you have had a custom frame made by us, we will put a little sticker on the back to say how we think you should hang your frame. Alternatively, if you have something else you need hung up, here are our options:
- Our Beehive hangers are a brilliant way to hang (original or max)
- If you like hooks we recommend the hook and nails (small, medium or double)
- If you have a heavy frame we recommend a french cleat (which we can custom make for you) or heavy-duty frame hangers which come in 3 sizes rated from 34kg up to 90kg.
Still confused? Contact us and we can talk about what option we think is best for you.
Should I bring my prints or object in to be framed?
Yes please! This allows us to measure and work with your item to give us a more accurate result.
