We’ll start with a brief bit of history, then get onto the really exciting stuff!

Imageland started in 1981 as Hamilton’s first 1 hour photo lab and as a retail arm of Candid Camera, which began all the way back in 1947! In 1998 Imageland moved to a much larger location on Victoria St to increase our range of products & services to the photographic market.

Over time, we had grown even further and in 2007 we opened a second branch in Lake Rd and maintained our Kodak Express branch in Victoria St. Known as the Picture Framing Centre, our Lake Rd location proved very popular for our framing clients, who loved the easy access & parking it provided (and they also liked not being swept in the opposite direction down the road when trying to get big/lots of frames to their cars!).

Which brings us to 2013/2014…

April 2014 will see us making Imageland easier for everyone – we will be merging our Kodak Express branch into our Picture Framing Centre! While we will no longer be operating from our Victoria St location, this does not mean we have closed down – we’ll simply be operating from the one location at 55 Lake Rd.

You’ll gain easy access to our branch, products & services as well as our team – there’s even free parking right at the door. When you arrive at Imageland on Lake Rd, you will be able to discuss all your printing, framing & display options with the team who will carry out the work. You’ll find some of our services will have faster turn around times as we complete work in one store, rather than across two branches. We will also be able to extend our ‘on-site’ services, with the ability to visit more clients – a popular option for those not easily able to get out & about as well as businesses requiring consultations for displays in offices, boardrooms & showrooms.

For over three decades, Imageland has been known for our enormous range of photo frames, custom picture framing and the myriads of photographic services – and all of these core products & services will continue. As these will be Imageland’s strong focus, some categories will not be included in the merger.

In the background of all these changes, we are making plans for an open day in April to celebrate our new location & to show you our new facilities, once we’re all settled in.
